The Ranger and the Fae: Storyreel

Sequential Imaging was a project-based class that taught story structure and storyboarding through the creation of a storyreel. 

I developed the prompt “What if a park ranger found a magical creature in the woods and had to protect it from the outside world.” into a full story reel using story spines, thumbnails, storyboards, and audio. 

My biggest challenge was crafting a cohesive plot with clear, emotionally and logically consistent story beats. To try and work through this, I revised the story multiple times, sought feedback, and studied materials on plot development. While I’m not sure if the final version fully resolved all these issues, the process helped me grow and learn.

While I may have struggled with my story, I learned a lot about how to take a concept and develop it into a full story as well as how to translate that into a visual storyboard.
